Bloodfin Glass Tetra

The Bloodfin Glass Tetra (Prionobrama filigera), also known as the Glass Bloodfin Tetra, is a small and striking freshwater fish that is popular among aquarium hobbyists. This species is a variation of the common Bloodfin Tetra, but with transparent or glass-like fins that accentuate its bright red coloration.

Like the Bloodfin Tetra, the Bloodfin Glass Tetra is native to the Amazon River basin in South America, where it inhabits slow-moving tributaries and flooded forests. In the wild, this species feeds on small insects and other invertebrates.

In the aquarium, the Bloodfin Glass Tetra is a hardy and peaceful fish that can thrive in a community tank with other non-aggressive species. They are relatively easy to care for and can adapt to a range of water conditions, although they prefer soft, slightly acidic water.

This active and social species also exhibits schooling behavior, which means they prefer to swim in groups of at least 6 to 10 fish. Keeping a school of these beautiful and lively fish can provide a fascinating display in any aquarium.
