Brackish Figure 8 Puffer

$16.99

The Figure 8 Puffer, also known as the Eyespot Puffer or F8 Puffer, is a small and popular freshwater pufferfish species that is native to brackish waters in Southeast Asia. It is named after the distinctive figure-eight pattern on its body. Figure 8 Puffers grow to a maximum length of around 3 inches and require a minimum tank size of 20 gallons. They are relatively peaceful compared to other puffer species, but can still be aggressive towards their own kind and other fish if they feel threatened or stressed. Therefore, it is recommended to keep them in a species-only tank or with other peaceful, non-aggressive fish species.

Breeding the Figure 8 Puffer in captivity is difficult and has rarely been accomplished. In the wild, they are known to be egg-layers that deposit their eggs on the substrate or on plants. Overall, the Figure 8 Puffer is a unique and interesting fish that is suitable for intermediate level aquarium hobbyists. They are relatively easy to care for as long as their water quality is maintained and their diet is varied.
