Jewel Cichlids, also known as African Jewels or Jewel Fish, are a popular species of freshwater fish native to Africa. They are named for their striking coloration, which typically includes a bright red or orange body with blue-green spots or iridescence. Jewel Cichlids are known for their aggressive temperament, and should be kept in a species-only aquarium or with other large, robust fish.
